Fold (un)Fold is the culmination of my experiences during my MFA degree at ICP-Bard College. This exhibition attempts to unravel conventional understandings of the photographic image and its material implications, I have been working the archive and archival documents/images to rethink the meaning of identity, history, memory, and loss.

The Ninth Floor is a two channel video installation that meditates on ideas of place, architectural space and the contemporary implications of historical traumas. Investigating and revisiting the site of the 1992 Fabrikant Shooting at Concordia University, the film attempts to understand the passage of time and the inevitable imprints of

unimaginable events on the porous walls of concrete Brutalist architecture but also contemplate the ways we inhabit spaces after experiencing violence, trauma and loss.

Utopos, as a series, investigates the ways in which the flat photographic surface can be shaped and folded to bend our understanding of time and space. These overpowering utilitarian Brutalist buildings that once embodied a distant utopian future somehow loose their monolithic veneer and become organic and fluid. The image becomes distorted, allowing us to travel back to the past and future by joining one fold with another.
